New Students to Explorers 2

Exciting news!  In the beginning of Term 3, there will seven delightful students transitioning from Explorers 1 into our POD.  We are looking forward to meeting those children in Week 10, when they come to visit us.

Oral Language Term 2

Newspaper News

For oral language on Fridays this term, we will be looking at positive pictures and stories from the newspaper/community newspaper or online sources and discussing the news items.

All children will have a turn at sharing their newspaper news. We will notify your child the week before it is their turn. We will be focussing on questioning using the 5 W’s (where, what, when, why, who). The children will need to know the main ideas of the article to be able to retell them to the class. They could write 1-2 sentences as a summary of the article so they can share it to the rest of the class.

Reminder - Swim Safety

A reminder that our Swim Safety programme is beginning tomorrow.  Please ensure all children have their togs and towel in a swimming bag, ready for our first session tomorrow.  It is imperative that all clothing is named.
